It was an alpine start kind of morning. The alarm went off at 4:30am. We met at the trailhead parking. Jill + Aaron got ready in near pitch dark. Just as the first light started to show itself, we started with a few portraits. The goal was to capture portraits up until sunrise, then have their ceremony as the sun came up over the trees. Our timing couldn’t have been more perfect and they had the intimate elopement they had always dreamed of. They cried, their officiant Carole cried, I cried. It could not have been more beautiful morning. There was something so special knowing that the rest of the valley was sound asleep while they quietly said “I do”.
Some of my most inspirational wedding photographers take great care in capturing adventure elopements. This was my first Yosemite elopement, and I am forever grateful that Jill and Aaron trusted me with this serene morning.
