This spring has been different. And I'll leave it there. But my spring 2020 couples have acted with such grace + love in this time of discomfort + confusion. By mid-March it was clear spring 2020 was going to unlike anything we'd experienced. Lots of phone calls. Would life be open in May? June? August?? Would it be safe to gather with family? Would it be responsible to even have a party any time in the next year?
Weddings have been rescheduled, postponed, and there have been a handful of unique, personal ceremonies which will make for family stories for generations to come. It has been a privilege to capture these special days - along with a reminder of how beautiful humans truly are.
Jeff + Colleen gracefully shifted their wedding plans. Their weekend celebration became an intimate ceremony with family. Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church is the church where Colleen attended school + is now a middle school teacher. After their ceremony (streamed live on Facebook for family + friends), the couple was greeted by parking lot of students, teachers, + friends. They lapped the parking lot to cheers + laughter. It was the most people any of us had seen in months + the best possible reminder of love + community.
